Lake County Administration Building
Painesville, Ohio
The Lake County Administration Center is a complex consisting of two buildings and a single-story, 1,600 sq. ft. atrium connecting the two buildings with a total of approximately 102,000 sq. ft. and a budget of $25 million. The existing 5-story Nolan Building received moderate renovations focusing primarily on finishes, building systems, and updates to meet building codes.
The new Administration Building is five stories with each floor totaling approximately 11,000 sq. ft. New central mechanical and electrical rooms are located at the basement level. Tec’s services included the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering and lighting design for both the renovation of the Nolan Building and construction of the new Administration Building.
Mechanical engineering included the design of a new HVAC system for the new Administration Center; modifying the existing HVAC system to meet the needs of the renovation in the Nolan Building; and a new automation system to control the HVAC, lighting, and access control system. Electrical engineering included the design of new power and lighting systems for the Administration Building. The Nolan Building’s existing lighting was replaced on each floor with an updated power system. In addition, Tec provided lightning protection and fire alarm design services.
