Rocky River Police Station

This new project for the City of Rocky River encompassed a new 46,802 square foot police station to include administration offices and conference rooms, media room and/or command center, temporary holding cells, vehicle garage and indoor shooting range. The scope of the project included improvements to the adjacent City Hall entrance to add accessibility accommodations including a new elevator and second floor connector to the Police Station. The project also provided site design for parking lot and traffic modifications for the City Hall and Police Station entrances. The total project cost was $12M with a $10.5M construction cost.
Tec provided Electrical Engineering including complete lighting and lighting controls as well as new general-purpose receptacles and specific power requirements. Electrical design includes providing for the power requirements of the various items of HVAC equipment and controls. Since this is a public building functioning as a police station, an emergency generator power system was required for critical loads. Tec coordinated the electric utility requirements for power, communication, and data services. Our technology design included the voice and data pathways, cabling, and terminations as well as mass notification fire alarm system design.
Mechanical engineering included HVAC system design for the building with rooftop units and VAV terminal boxes with local thermostat control. Toilet room exhaust and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) Temperature controls were part of Tec’s design.
