Sandusky Justice Center Renovation

Sandusky, OH

As part of the City of Sandusky’s commitment to enhancing public safety services, the Sandusky Justice Center underwent a major renovation to better support the city’s growing police and court operations. The existing two-story, 43,785-square-foot building was reimagined with a new layout and modern infrastructure. Tec worked within the owner’s budget to deliver a renovation that prioritized functionality, security, and long-term adaptability.

Tec performed MEP engineering for the justice center renovation, including
mechanical repairs to replace the existing HVAC system with newer modern air
handling systems, replacing mechanical equipment and implementing a new control
system for the building.

Electrical Engineering for this project involved modifying the lighting, emergency
lighting and overhead lighting controls to accomodate the new space. We will
also modify general power devices, branch circuit wiring, and new circuit breaker
panelboards for the new space. There is also a new natural gas generator installed as
well as a new fire alarm system in the renovate layout.

Plumbing Engineering for the Justice Center includes coordination and layout of
existing roof drains, storm, sanitary and venting within the building, and a new full
building sprinkler system will be provided to serve the building. Tec also worked on
technology design for the new building, including all new IT rooms and IT cabling
system, and security system designs (includes cameras, access control devices, cabling,
and cabling pathways).
