Gannon University I-HACK Center (Ph. 1 & 2)
Erie, Pennsylvania
Tec Inc. Engineering & Design provided MEP engineering services as Gannon University took the first major steps towards the construction of the Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge or I-HACK.
Gannon’s I-HACK is a six-story, 99,784 square-foot building located in the heart of Erie’s economic district, serving as a global headquarters for academia and industry to design, integrate, and protect cybernetic intelligence and data systems worldwide. The first phase of the $13 million project is the interior demolition of Gannon University’s Knight Center for the innovative new center on Gannon’s campus. The demolition and renovation of the entry and first two floors of the I-HACK created educational spaces for its new academic programs in Cyber Engineering and Cybersecurity.
Tec Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting and technology design for the project that was phased to allow the University to obtain funding for the different programs served in the building. Tec was initially secured by the Design Builder to provide services for the first phase and was retained to complete the data center & collaborative job creation environment on the top floors.
