Grove City Library

Grove City, Ohio

The Grove City Library is a 48,000 sq. ft. library providing patrons an expanded children’s department—including an early literacy section and teen room—quiet study space, more public computers with internet access, and expanded meeting rooms. Tec completed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for the library. Lighting design was provided by our affiliate, Tec Studio.

The HVAC system included air handling units, condensing units sizing and location, ductwork sizing and installation requirements, insulation, temperature controls and ancillary equipment. Plumbing services included domestic hot and cold water system with proper tempering, sanitary sewer and vent system, storm drainage system and natural gas piping within the building. The fire protection system design was completed as a performance specification developed by Tec.

Electrical/lighting design included luminaires for general illumination, as well as specialized requirements for higher profile spaces such as the lobby, conference and meeting rooms, and reading/book stacks, office and support areas. Also included in the scope of services were exit and egress illumination (manual and automated lighting controls), lighting system branch circuit wiring, general power receptacles, and power branch circuit wiring for mechanical equipment. Tec engineered the incoming electrical service, electrical power distribution, branch panel boards, building fire alarm system, and emergency power system.

Technology design involved voice/data system pathways from the data closet location to various service point locations throughout the library and pathway design such as the telecommunications room sizing requirements and equipment racks.
