Amada America, Inc. expanded its North American presence with the construction of a 190,000 Square foot manufacturing center and 60,000 square foot technical center in 2020. The supplier of precision sheet metal production equipment and related systems created this manufacturing campus as the first in the Southeast. Tec Inc. Engineering & Design provided MEP criteria design for the the Design Build team for the 60,000 SF technical center while our Columbus, Ohio affiliate Monks Engineers designed the MEP systems for the 190,000 SF manufacturing facility. The plant will produce new high precision press brake line and laser automation equipment that is used primarily in the automotive industry. The new manufacting facility consists of a 177,000 SF new manufacturing plant and 17,000 SF office. The manufacturing space includes areas dedicated to manufacturing, painting and washing, welding, two restroom groups, three isolated offices, electrical, mechanical, hazardous storage and three dust collectors. The Technical Center include a two story exhibit space, offices, support space, meeting rooms, conference rooms and a small auditorium. Parking lot and walkway illumination were also a part of our scope of services. This structure is one of two initial buildings on site. HVAC systems for the technical center were designed and chosen with particular attention to the owner’s desires. This included minimizing visible ductwork while maintaining environmental comfort throughout the year. The office, support areas meeting, and conference rooms were served with rooftop VAV systems. The auditorium had a standalone HVAC system design.
