With the assistance of an $8M lead gift, Ohio Wesleyan University was able to renovate the former Pfeiffer natatorium and the historic Edwards Gym into a new fitness center designed for athletics, recreational and academic spaces. The 4,350 sq. ft. facility includes a mezzanine with cardiovascular equipment and weight room. A new 2,425 sq. ft. dance studio features a hardwood floor and collapsible seating for 80 people. Extensive sound and video capability make the dance studio a state-of-the-art venue for instruction and practice. The Department of Health and Human Kinetics studio provides students a hands-on approach to learning health- and fitness-related activities. Public spaces contain display and trophy cases along with interactive media walls featuring team information and stats. Tec completed the HVAC, plumbing, electrical engineering, and lighting and technology design for the renovation.
