University Hospitals hired the design team to provide design and documentation for an equipment update. The existing X-Ray room was an outdated floor mounted imaging system which was replaced with a GE Healthcare Optima XR646 Overhead X-Ray. It was necessary to remove the existing ceiling in the X-Ray room to accommodate the installation of structural supports for the ceiling mounted bridge. Tec Inc. provided new lighting and relocated the existing supply air diffuser. The existing control area was prone to overheating and Tec addressed this issue as part of our design. Plumbing included the addition of a new handwashing sink. The existing X-Ray equipment feeder was evaluated and it was determined that it met the voltage drop requirements of the new GE equipment. Tec also will calculated the air and humidity requirements and specified rebalancing of the existing HVAC supply and exhaust air accordingly.
