Holden Arboretum
Kirtland, OH
Tec Inc. Engineering & Design is proud to have contributed engineering assessment, recommendations, and schematic design to support the future renovation and expansion of the Holden Arboretum's Long Science Center, a facility dedicated to advancing research in plant biology, forest restoration and preservation, and biodiversity. This project is a key part of Holden’s efforts to address critical issues affecting tree health and biodiversity in the Great Lakes region.
Project Overview:
The facility will enable researchers to study the latest advancements in tree disease management, utilizing both the arboretum’s extensive collection of plant species and surrounding forested areas. The project will also support the region's broader mission of forest landowner support and ecosystem preservation.
Tec Inc. played an integral role in the electrical and mechanical engineering assessment for the lab master plan for renovations and expansion. The future design work will include state-of-the-art systems designed to support the lab’s critical research activities. We collaborated closely with the project lead, Bostwick Design, to plan for the highest level of safety, efficiency, and sustainability for this important educational and research space.
Sustainability and Support:
This project is part of a larger, ongoing effort to improve Holden Arboretum’s facilities, which is partly supported by fundraising and grants. The lab will be a hub for research and a space to inform better management practices for our region's ecosystems.
Tec Inc. is thrilled to support Holden Arboretum’s mission through this renovation and expansion, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of this facility on plant health and biodiversity in the Great Lakes region.
