Kovacic Recreation Center, The City of Cleveland

Cleveland, Ohio

In 2017 the City of Cleveland began implementing a city-wide recreation Master plan that included the improvements to multiple recreation centers. The Kovacic Recreation center, formerly known as the St. Clair Bath House, built in 1919, was one of the largest renovation projects of this plan. Tec provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering, lighting and technology design for an extensive renovation to improve accessibility and life safety to make the center warm, safe and dry for users and staff.

The recreation center improvements included accessibility and ADA improvements as well as overall HVAC, lighting and electrical upgrades to bring the building up to code and increase energy efficiency. The scope included improvements to the entire facility which housed an indoor pool, gym, weight room, activity rooms, and administrative offices.
