Residence Halls, Lake Erie College

Painesville, Ohio

Engineering work involved the complete remodeling of two of the four halls on campus. The 1950’s structures were transformed into marvelous up-todate residence halls. Prior to the decision to upgrade the buildings a facilities assessment was completed to better understand the condition of the exisiting MEP infrastructure. Two of the three buildings were subsequently renovated. Upgrades to lighting, power, and telecommunications were done and new common bathrooms were installed throughout the buildings. Soon after completion of the renovation projects the College chose to replace one of the halls with a new building. Dickinson Hall was built next to the other residence halls. Tec provided the full engineering services for this project. The lighting design features extensive use of direct/indirect luminaires, and the most current lamp and ballast technology.
