The Ivory on Euclid

Cleveland, Ohio

Constructed in 1911, the Truman Building was once the center of Cleveland’s business district. As demand for these businesses faded over the years, the structure was vacated until a new vision for the property was realized in 2009. Now known as the Ivory on Euclid, the 76,000 sq. ft. building, features retail space at the street level, 29 residential apartments located on the floors above, and a rooftop green space that serves as a social gathering space for residents to enjoy.

Working with architect, Studio CRM, Tec provided complete MEP services for the renovation while meeting the requirements for the City of Cleveland’s Green Building designation. The historic significance of the building required the apartment layouts and all necessary MEP systems to be configured around the marble floors located throughout the corridors so that they remained undisturbed.

In addition, new duct work and HVAC equipment was incorporated without penetrating the exterior walls of this iconic structure. To bring the building up to code, a new fire alarm system was installed. Additional ventilation for a new basement parking garage was also part of Tec’s scope of services.
