Ron Marhofer Auto Family is adding a new Chevrolet store to better serve customers in Akron. The new 3,100 sq. ft. store is a single-story building with sales lot. Tec is providing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering and design services under a design, bid, build delivery model. Electrical engineering includes new electrical utility for the service, lighting, lighting controls as well as new general purpose receptacles, mechanical equipment connections and specific power requirements for the equipment that may be installed in the vehicle prep area. Voice and data pathway, as well as the design of a new fire alarm system, are also included. An outdoor lighting design for the Sales Lot with a site photometric plan will complete the electrical scope of work. Mechanical engineering consists of constant volume rooftop unit(s) with local thermostat control, HVAC, and ventilation and exhaust for the vehicle prep area. Plumbing system design includes roof drains, storm and sanitary sewers within the building, domestic water service from a connection point approximately 5’ beyond the building foundation, domestic hot and cold water distribution throughout the building, as well as domestic hot water heaters and various plumbing fixture specifications.
