Tec completed the electrical and mechanical engineering for two new adjacent Spitzer stores—Kia and Chrysler— located just outside Mansfield in Ontario, Ohio. The Kia dealership is a 15,000 sq. ft. facility with 8,000 sq. ft. dedicated to sales and the showroom, 2,000 sq. ft. for parts storage, and 5,000 sq. ft. for a 10-bay service garage. Tec’s engineering services included the location of major mechanical and electrical equipment, mechanical and electrical service calculations and proposed lighting fixtures. Tec’s electrical engineers worked closely with Kia staff to ensure the corporate brand guidelines for lighting were followed. The Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership is approximately 18,000 sq. ft. with 7,000 sq. ft. allocated to sales and the showroom, 4,000 sq. ft. for parts storage, and 7,000 sq. ft. for a 14-bay service garage. For both buildings, the mechanical scope of work included HVAC and exhaust design with roof-top heating and cooling units for the sales, parts, and service write-up areas. Vehicle exhaust evacuation and carbon monoxide detection systems were also included in the scope of work. Plumbing includes new under slab sanitary routing, riser diagrams and schedules to within 5’ of the building outside perimeter. Coordination of site utility services and layout was also included in the mechanical scope. The electrical design included new service from the street, power distribution and lighting design—including site lighting with photometric report. Electrical documents indicating new luminaries for general illumination, exit and emergency egress illumination, lighting system branch circuit wiring, general power receptacles, power branch circuit wiring to mechanical equipment rounds out the electrical scope of work. Spitzer Automotive has been in existence since 1904 with dealerships in OH, PA, & FL. Tec has provided engineering services at 3 of Spitzer’s 16 stores.
