A little bit of kindness makes a big impact with the 'Pay It Forward' initiative

This Thanksgiving, we want to express our heartfelt thanks as we reflect on the incredible stories of generosity from our cherished clients and friends. The "Pay It Forward" initiative, which originated at our 40th Anniversary celebration, has evolved into a treasury of heartwarming tales of kindness that we believe deserve to be shared.

Over the past few months, it has been our privilege to gift our valued clients and friends with "Pay It Forward" gift cards—a small token with a powerful purpose. These cards were our way of inviting you to join us in spreading positivity and acts of kindness throughout our community.

From supporting local businesses to aiding those in need, the impact of these acts of kindness has been truly inspiring. We've witnessed firsthand the powerful effect of a collective effort to create positive change, reaffirming our belief in the importance of giving back.

At Tec, we hold dear the principle that giving back is not just a duty but a privilege. This Thanksgiving, we want to celebrate not only the successes of our firm but the collective triumph of compassion over adversity.

To our clients who wholeheartedly embraced the "Pay It Forward" challenge, we extend our deepest appreciation. Your stories have become the heart and soul of this initiative, inspiring us all to be better, do more, and truly make a difference.

Stories shared from our friends:

"A woman who recently had a house fire and doesn't often take care of herself was getting advice from her friends while living in a rental until her house is repaired. The woman was doing the bare minimum for herself and her home repairs. She listened to her friend (Tec's party guest) and made some decisions that made sure she was getting the best from her insurance coverage to repair her house. As an additional gift, her friend gave her the PIF card to buy herself a meal or coffee and treat herself reminding her to take care of herself and continue her self-care during such a challenging time."

"I just wanted to let you know that the four (4) Regency employees who received the $15 gift cards paid it forward to one of our carpenters who was in a serious motorcycle accident three (3) weeks ago! The gift cards are going towards paying for ADA upgrades to his house since he will be wheelchair-bound while he recovers from his injuries. I want to say I love this idea of the Pay It Forward initiative! Very clever and it's a great way to help!"

"My wife and I gave our pay-it-forward cards to the Grant Elementary School Child's Social Worker to use for children in the program who have financial needs. Many of the children in the program do not have money to pay for school supplies and other needs to attend school. The social worker was very grateful for the cards and said she knew the families who are in need and would use the cards to help them out.

"Last Friday morning at breakfast I had the opportunity to pay it forward for a young single mother and her son. This was not the first time I saw them nor the first time I bought their breakfast. What is so special about this mom and her child is the way she interacts with him. She makes it a point to sit next to him. Not across from one another. The entire time waiting for their order to arrive she is interacting with her son, not buried in her phone, or reading the paper while he is engaged with a laptop or game. They appear to be spending quality time together. To me this is very special, many parents I have noticed do not do this with their younger children. It is hard for me to say how old the boy is, possibly 6 to 8 years old. Extremely well-behaved. The entire episode warmed my heart and was well worth the cost of breakfast to enjoy the experience. My server was able to handle the payment anonymously and the young single mom was none the wiser."

"We're doing a collection at work for Star House. I decided to put the $15 toward my donation of hats and socks for the collection, and added more money."

As we enter this season of gratitude, let's continue sharing stories that warm the heart and light the way for others. From our Tec family to yours, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with the joy of giving and the warmth of shared stories. Thank you for being a part of this meaningful journey.

Happy Thanksgiving!
